"It's Not Just About Finance"

How to Identify Great Stocks

People ask me all the time about what is the best way to identify great stocks.

First, there’s probably no “Best Way” to pick great stocks all the time.

Why?

Like all secrets on Wall Street, the boyz in the “Club” can AND will mess with/manipulate even the best companies out there to prove a point how they’re in control.

Second, just when you think you’ve got the winning formula, you’ll get whacked upside the head with a Bankster 2 X 4.

And never see it coming.

You might be wondering how I know that.

As we like to say “A man with an experience is never at the mercy of a man with a theory.”

And in our combined 110+ years of experience we’ve experienced more than a few marks, bumps, and bruises all over our collective bodies.

However, the answer to CONSISTENTLY finding great stocks is pretty simple.

And it’s probably not what you think.

Identifying Great Stocks

“…In Plain English,” look for companies with a long record of increasing dividends.

And you simply can’t overemphasize the importance of the long record of increasing dividends.

Why?

A lot of lies can be told about a stock…especially by analysts “talking their book.”

But dividends don’t lie.

In order to increase dividends, a stock must create a history of producing cash.

It’s an Old School thing.  But very effective.

Lies, Damn Lies, and More Great Stocks

You need to remember:

  1. Analysts can lie
  2. Earnings can lie
  3. CEO’s can lie
  4. But dividends don’t lie

As a result, a company must increase its actual earnings in order to raise dividends.

The only thing better than dividends is the “float” produced by an insurance company.

Case in point: The float, plus compounding, made Warren Buffett a wealthy man.
