Financials Matter

"It's Not Just About Finance"

How Does Gender Identification Affect the Market?

There are times when you know that no matter how you address a topic, you’re gonna rattle someone’s cage.

This is one of those topics.

It’s sad to say that a recent survey of college graduates (belonging to a certain political party) revealed a shocking statistic.

70% of those surveyed actually believe you are in control of your “Gender Assignment.”

I know it seems crazy but what’s even more bizarre is our government is wasting billions of our tax dollars to conduct these surveys.

I have a real simple mind and believe the solution for determining one’s gender does not involve spending any money.

Here’s how you do it.

The next time you’re in the shower, look down at your midsection and see what’s there.

If that doesn’t answer your question on gender identification then you most likely need help.

Okay, now that I’ve likely offended someone, let me show you how this mindset affects the investment world.

I’m not trying to pick on the Millennials but they make up a large portion of the gender identification group.

And just like the Baby Boomers, Millennials are approximately 77 Million strong (24% of the population).

They are becoming the most influential base of consumers in America.

Their spending habits are far different than any age group we’ve seen in the last 50 years.

They’re skills in computers, smart phones, social media, and mobile communication are unmatched by any other age group.

And when they get their buying act together, they will dictate how companies market to them.

This presents a major opportunity to invest in companies adapting to this crowd, regardless of their gender issues.
