Financials Matter

"It's Not Just About Finance"

Corporate Fascism…Myth or Reality?

It starts out sooo innocently.

Your wife shows you an insert in your utility bill showing how you can save “Hundreds” every year by doing a few simple things.

Their money saving tips include:

  • Allowing your utility company to “shut off” the power to your appliances and/or water heater, a/c, etc.
  • Moderate your usage based on “peak hours” vs. down time.
  • How you benefit by (essentially) giving them control over your home.

You read it and think, “Gee, this makes sense…and we’ll be saving money.”

However, what happens when you want to use those appliances in the time period that they’re “shut-off?”

Hmmmm!

This is yet another example of how corporations are quietly taking control over our everyday lives.

In a world where we protest corporate monopolies, it’s ironic that no one mentions how Utility companies wrote the book on monopolies.

Yes, Google, Apple, Amazon (just to name a few) could be considered a monopoly, but no one forces you to buy anything they’re selling.

It doesn’t work that way with your local utility company.

Pay up…or they shut you down.

And who do you think controls the market on solar power?

You’ve seen the ads saying “Never pay for utilities again” by converting to solar power.

Again, the idea sounds great.  But if you read between the lines, you’ll see how you’re at their mercy when you adopt their “Money Saving” solar programs.

It’s all part of how corporations (not just utilities) are in bed with the government and are creating new ways of taking control of “little things that don’t really matter” (sarc).

Read why (and HOW) to avoid losing control (HERE).

“…The Fascist State organizes the nation, but leaves a sufficient margin of liberty to the individual; the latter is deprived of all useless and possibly harmful freedom, but retains what is essential; the deciding power in this question cannot be the individual, but the State alone….”
