"It's Not Just About Finance"

A HAPPY THANKSGIVING MESSAGE

It would be almost impossible to list – in an email – the vast number of reasons to be thankful in a happy Thanksgiving message.

So, let’s focus on one reason to be thankful.

 

#1 The Importance of Freedom.

 

We must never forget what Ronald Reagan said:

 

“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

 

Keeping the Happy Thanksgiving Message Alive

As a nation, we have faced many threats to our freedom.

Some of which were very serious indeed.

However, the threats we have faced over the last two years, have been unprecedented.

And it’s not because they are grave.

But more because they are no longer just external in nature.

Unfortunately, the primary threats to liberty we face today are domestic in origin.

These domestic enemies have all but destroyed the time-honored oath for federal officers to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

 

A few examples include:

 

  1. Restrictions on the sacred rights of free speech and freedom of religion have reached levels that would have been unthinkable only a decade ago.
  2. Censorship and punishment of patriotic and biblically based viewpoints have become commonplace.
  3. The most powerful agencies of our federal government have been used as political weapons… i.e., fabricating criminal prosecutions designed to remove democratically appointed leaders while ignoring crimes by certain political opponents.
  4. Our election system of the nation has been corrupted.
  5. Our border has been overrun, and Congress has come within one vote of passing a law that would enshrine as a “civil right” conduct which God calls an abomination.

 

The Bad vs Good News

The above points may seem to be full of gloom and doom.

And for those who lack faith, our situation appears helpless.

But…and this is a Very Big Butt…

Many people forget that on November 9, 1620, 102 Christian refugees arrived at what we now call Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

Their goal was nothing less than the formation of a new Christian civilization, built on the authority of the Word of God and freedom of religion.

In their first year 50 of 102 died.

And in spite of the pilgrims’ adversities the rest, as they say, is history.

 

America was conceived in liberty.

And unlike any other nation in history, we have provided prosperity and liberty to the world in ways that have never been seen before.

So today let’s not only celebrate the tenacity of the Pilgrims – who gave us the Thanksgiving Holiday – but the unyielding Godly spirit that has blessed our nation since its beginning.

We’re living proof that resistance to tyranny is NOT futile.

AMEN!
