Our Founding Fathers knew what they were doing when they created the framework for our country basing the Constitution on our God Given Rights.
As a result, in the United States, we are blessed that the highest power was given by God to the people under the Constitution.
And we submit to God first and the Constitution as it is in line with the Word of God.
But if authority steps out of those bounds, we have the right, actually the responsibility, to not relinquish our God given rights.
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
~ Romans 13:1 ~
Some people have mistakenly interpreted the scripture above to say that God is the one who puts all people in places of authority over us.
That is NOT what this is saying.
God ordained government, but not all people in the positions of government are ordained of God.
Big difference.
And it is obvious when you look at some of the creeps that are still in charge today (Cough! Adam Schiff, Cough! Peter Strzok – who led the investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election – Cough!).
Ironically (or NOT) Scripture is often misinterpreted and/or misapplied today.
And that is because the church has failed to teach the Word of God.
What?
Stay with me.
Your God Given Rights
According to the Bible, we should never obey any person if that would cause us to disobey God.
And yet, we are to submit to every ordinance of man (1 Peter 2:13).
However, submission is an attitude, not an action.
It will express itself through actions, but we can have a submissive attitude and yet disobey an ungodly command.
Example: When Pharaoh commanded that the male Hebrew babies were to be killed at birth (Exodus 1:16), Moses’s parents did not obey, and God blessed them for their actions.
Bottom line: God did ordain all government.
But in more cases than not, governments are not any more responsive to Him than are individuals.
However, we are to submit to them and obey them as long as we don’t have to violate a clear command of God.
Governors (and Presidents) themselves may not be of God, but civil government is definitely of God.
Why are we pointing this out?
When “We the People” understand what our God Given Rights are is when we start the process of turning our nation back to what it is supposed to be.
And until that happens, we will continue on the road of confusion that we are still on.
